He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role We have a fantastic opportunity for an MRI Technologist to join our new team in Masterton working with state-of-the-art technology. This role is responsible for contributing to an efficient MRI service of the highest quality and providing exceptional MRI services to patients, referrers, and funders. Masterton has a relaxed pace to life offering a unique blend of rural charm and modern convenience – vineyards, beaches, and hiking trails while also its growing arts and culture scene and becoming known for its book loving community. Masterton is a gateway through to the Hawkes Bay, Manawatu and the greater Wellington region.
A day in the life of this role could look like:
- Performing MRI imaging using safe practice techniques and the agreed MRI imaging protocols
- Completing MRI analysis in accordance with established standards
- Ensuring equipment is maintained, and notifying the Charge MRI of any equipment breakages, breakdowns or malfunctions
- Undertaking quality assurance
- Providing compassionate, patient-centred care in every interaction
- Contributing to continuous improvement and service excellence

Ideally, you’ll have experience as an MRI Technologist with strong knowledge of MRI safety guidelines and procedures. You’ll also bring experience in the following:
- A commitment to providing high-quality care and patient-focused service.
- A desire to work with a professional and friendly team using the latest MRI technology.
- A motivated approach to delivering quality healthcare and a passion for ongoing professional development
- The ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong patient focus and high attention to detail
- Strong technical knowledge and the ability to undertake MRI examinations to a high standard
- Registered with the New Zealand MRTB and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate in MRI
