Nuclear Medicine Technologist

We are seeking an exceptional Nuclear Medicine Technologist with expertise in PET‑CT to deliver high‑quality diagnostic imaging while ensuring an outstanding patient experience. The ideal candidate will provide a warm, accurate and responsive service to Pacific Radiology Group patients, referrers, and funders, consistently upholding the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of PET and Nuclear Medicine diagnostic procedures to a professional and high clinical standard.
  • Acquire high‑quality data using PET‑CT systems, ensuring appropriate examinations for clinical indications, effective use of departmental resources, accurate data processing, and precise image labelling.
  • Maintain professional, ethical, and compassionate patient care, ensuring clear communication with patients, support persons, wards, and other clinical teams throughout the imaging process.
  • Perform radiopharmaceutical and hot‑lab quality control procedures, including IV cannulation.
  • Provide support with CT diagnostic imaging as required.

About You – Qualifications & Requirements
  • Qualification as a Medical Imaging Technologist, and if based in New Zealand, registration with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board and a current practising certificate
  • Nuclear Medicine. CT and Xray experience desirable but not essential
  • Competence across routine and complex PET‑CT procedures, including quality assurance
  • IV cannulation skills
  • Strong understanding of practical and legislative requirements in Nuclear Medicine and PET‑CT
  • Sound judgement, professionalism, and the ability to prioritise effectively
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication skills with patients, whānau, and healthcare professionals
  • Strong relationship‑building skills
  • Flexibility, motivation, and a commitment to high‑quality care
  • Respect for patient privacy and confidentiality
