Sports med image
Published on 13 March 2026

Through this partnership, we’re helping to advance sport and exercise medicine by supporting SMNZ’s leading programme of professional development and clinical collaboration.

Pacific Radiology, as part of RHCNZ Medical Imaging Group, is proud to renew our partnership with Sports Medicine New Zealand (SMNZ), continuing as Primary Partner and Lead Sponsor of the SMNZ Annual Scientific Meeting, to be held in Auckland on 16-17 October 2026.

As part of RHCNZ's nationwide network, we work alongside clinicians, sports medicine specialists and active communities throughout Aotearoa. Renewing our partnership with SMNZ reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting high‑quality education and evidence‑based care for active New Zealanders.

SMNZ plays a vital national role in promoting safe participation in sport, exercise and physical activity. Their leadership in supporting clinicians who prevent, diagnose and manage injuries complements the imaging services and clinical expertise we provide across the country.

Through this partnership, we will continue to contribute to SMNZ’s nationwide programme of professional development and clinical collaboration. The Annual Scientific Meeting is a key opportunity for clinicians and researchers to connect, share new insights and explore emerging developments in sport and exercise medicine.

Our Chief Radiologist, Dr Rachael McEwing, says the partnership reflects shared values and a shared commitment to clinical excellence:

“RHCNZ Medical Imaging Group is pleased to continue our partnership with Sports Medicine New Zealand. We remain committed to supporting high‑quality education and development across the sport and exercise medicine community.

Across our three brands – Auckland Radiology, Bay Radiology and Pacific Radiology - we work closely with clinicians who help active New Zealanders stay well and perform confidently. SMNZ’s focus on evidence‑based practice, collaboration, and clinical excellence aligns strongly with our values and nationwide imaging services.

As part of this, we look forward to being the lead sponsor of the SMNZ Annual Scientific Meeting and supporting a programme that helps clinicians and researchers to connect, learn, and improve outcomes for athletes and active people throughout Aotearoa.

SMNZ President Dr Stephen Kara says the continued partnership plays an important role in supporting SMNZ’s mission:

“Sports Medicine New Zealand is delighted to announce RHCNZ Medical Imaging Group as our Primary Partner and Lead Sponsor of the SMNZ Annual Scientific Meeting to be held in Auckland, 16/17 October 2026. RHCNZ’s valued support plays a pivotal role in enabling SMNZ to deliver a high-quality scientific and professional programme for our members and delegates.

Through partnerships such as this, we are able to enhance access to continuing professional development, strengthen clinical excellence, and foster meaningful collaboration across the sport and exercise medicine community.

We sincerely appreciate RHCNZ’s commitment to supporting excellence in sports medicine throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. As a provider of high-quality medical imaging services nationwide, RHCNZ shares our dedication to advancing evidence-based care and improving outcomes for active New Zealanders."

We’re proud to continue supporting SMNZ and to play a part in strengthening sport and exercise medicine across Aotearoa.
